“Baywatch” style aquatic setting

Mitch Buchannon has added a new item of clothing to his minimalist wardrobe: in addition to his red shorts, he will be wearing a red hat on La Plagne beach! The aqua centre in Montchavin combines indoor and outdoor areas for kids and adults. The whirlpool basin, fun pool, spa and treatment area, slide and water games are bound to meet the whole family’s requirements.

-Piscine & SPA in Champagny en Vanoise

In 2017, a 250 m² spa & relaxation area was added to the pool, as well as a transparent sliding roof to tackle the unpredictable mountain weather. The grassy exterior and south-facing exposure complete a top-quality facility.

-Magic pool

In Plagne Bellecôte, the pool is greatly appreciated after a day of hiking. The evening opening on Thursday is an added extra for this high-altitude swimming pool.

Les Versants d’Aime leisure park & lake – La Plagne Valley

When the temperature rises, you have 2 solutions: either go higher up, or head down to the Pavillon Bleu-label leisure park. Families will love the 2nd proposal where they will find a lake with a supervised swimming area. And that’s not all! Water balls, acro-bungy, an adventure course, kayak and stand-up paddle rental… it’s the ideal spot to spend a “cool” day. The picnic tables under the trees and barbecues available to all by the river create a particularly appreciable dolce vita atmosphere.

Les Bains & Spa La Plagne – Belle Plagne

Deep Nature has created a new wellness centre in Belle Plagne with 1 500 m² of wellbeing and relaxation. There is a family area where children can try a first spa experience: a first-off in the Tarentaise. It consists of an aquatic trail with water heated to 35°, including a gooseneck shower, a waterfall, waterbeds and counter-current walking lanes. The icing on the cake is “My First Massage”, a treatment created especially for children.

A giant waterslide at the Festoche des Mioches event in La Plagne Montalbert

From July 15th – 19th, 2019, La Plagne Montalbert is organising a festival for kids. Among the different activities on offer, new for the 2019 edition is the installation of a giant bouncy waterslide 125 metres long! Mobile games (board games, games of skill, tabletop games), live shows and scientific workshops (making rockets, planetarium, exhibitions).

Family Races – La Plagne-Montchavin Les Coches

Are you up for a parent-child challenge? La Plagne Montchavin – Les Coches organises family races over 3.6 km courses strewn with surprises and team challenges. The race is not timed and the idea is to finish together. Fancy dress is welcome, so long as it doesn’t stop you from answering the quiz questions or giving your all in the sports elements!

Festiplagne – August 19th – 22nd, 2019 – La Plagne Altitude

A 4-day event with a profusion of free workshops and challenges for families and a different theme every day! To encourage parent/child interaction through games, a challenge is introduced. To take part, the team has to complete at least 12 of the 16 activities on offer!

Electric mountain biking (e-MTB)

Getting on a bike when you are on holiday is a bit like getting your school bag ready at the end of the holidays, it signals the start of your stay! However, not everyone is ready to deal with the uphill aspect… Not a problem, the bike rental shops in La Plagne bring out their electric mountain bikes in the summer. And since no-one gets left behind in the Ingalls family, there are also 24” e-MTBs, adapted to the size of children aged about 12.  

In Champagny en Vanoise, you can even go cycling in the Vanoise National Park up to La Glière refuge, as long as you stay on the path and respect the park regulations.

The event: 2nd Fest’E-bike – August 15th, 2019

The electric mountain bike (e-MTB) is the king of this event on Thursday, August 15th, held right across the La Plagne area.

On the programme: free group E-tour to discover the area and see what there is to do on electric mountain bikes, equipment tests, races and shows. This specific biking day is in addition to the 150 km of trails proposed throughout the summer and the amenities that have been in place for the past few seasons.

[NEW] Académie Teddy Riner – La Plagne Altitude

Teddy Riner, one of France’s favourite sportsmen, will be in La Plagne to dispense exclusive advice and train up-and-coming judo enthusiasts. For a week, the young judokas will be mingling with the stars, literally and figuratively.

[NEW] La Gorzdérés easy walk – La Plagne Champagny en Vanoise

This new marked trail in the Champagny le Haut valley includes fun interactive information boards so that walkers of all ages can unlock the secrets of this valley that was carved out by the glaciers. The trail is short and on a wide and fairly flat path with specific stopping points: perfect for families with small children and people with reduced mobility!
