Sometimes it doesn’t take much to make you happy. The lovely aroma of melted cheese, the sound of snow crunching underfoot, the impression of flying down the slopes… It does us good to remember that (big and small) pleasures are at the heart of a holiday in the mountains.
A menu of pleasure
Phil Howard, the renowned English Michelin-starred chef, fell in love with La Plagne several years ago. Three years ago, he opened a restaurant along with Martin Cuchet, his friend from round here. His goal? To have the best restaurant in Paradiski. To achieve this, he relies on seasonal products, bold pairings and a fine wine list. It’s a fabulous “address”.
UNION Restaurant, Montalbert, open Tuesday to Saturday, lunchtime and evening, à la carte dishes and “tasting” menu at 65€/pers. unionmontalbert.com
Blushing with pleasure
It’s been much talked about and probably made more than one person very happy. The “Over the Moon” groomer will be continuing its “love tour” on the slopes of La Plagne, 2400 m above sea level. Still one of a kind, it is probably the world’s most romantic hotel room. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the Jacuzzi overlooking Mont Blanc, with no one for miles around.
skipass-laplagne.com – 340€ for 2 people/night, incl. breakfast
The pleasure of relaxation
A session at the spa is the perfect complement to a good night’s sleep. We therefore thoroughly recommend Les Bains & Spa de La Plagne with its 1500 m² dedicated to your wellbeing. Relaxing in water heated to 40° when the outside temperature is around 0° or letting go in the expert hands of a masseur(se) comes pretty close to our definition of happiness.
We like: Dual parent/child treatments (minimum age for children 6 yrs), to share an exceptional moment.
Belle Plagne – 19€ adult entry to the family area, 13€ for under 15 yrs
Zen Week– 8 to 12 March 2021
Before, during or after skiing, the concept of wellness is omnipresent during this theme week in Montalbert! On the programme: relaxation, sophrology, yoga, shiatsu, Nordic walking, night-time snowshoe walks, qi gong.
Espace Paradisio treatment bubble
A transparent dome installed on the terrace of Montchavin’s aqua-leisure centre, with a view of the pistes, is used for the three “Bubble of Gentleness” body treatments. The effect is even more enchanting at the end of the day, enveloped by the silence of the star-filled night!
From 10am to 8pm. From 70€ for 30 minutes with 2hr entry to the centre.
