Aime 2000 is celebrating its 50th anniversary!

The “20th century heritage” classified building is celebrating its half century of existence.

Its architecture leaves no-one indifferent: Michel Bezançon’s creation is likened to a “Snow ocean liner” where holidaymakers go on a mountain cruise, with the apartments, commercial centre and facilities are all linked by passageways! It’s more than just a building: it was, and still is, a whole village in itself.

Along with the more recent neighbouring buildings, the site is now called Plagne Aime 2000.

An ambitious project put together by Wilmotte architects and Pierre & Vacances Center Parc is being finalised to add a whole new look to the site between now and 2023.

The anniversary celebration in January 2020 will be the occasion for setting the first stone in place.

Did you know?… The resort of La Mongie has a building that is almost identical, on a smaller scale, that was built using the same model as Aime 2000.

A delegation of officials and tourist office representatives from the Pyrenean resort will be present during the festivities in January to discuss these two buildings and their common issues.
